I really think that there’s a universal joy a sweet treat can bring to any moment, especially cakes.

In my earlier years (evidenced here), baking was a fun moment shared with my mom- formerly a trained pastry chef and currently still teaching me everything I know about baking. Now in Austin the pastime has grown legs. I started bringing my cakes to celebrate birthdays, holidays and then just a casual night of drinks & laughs over food. And while Friend Cakes did truly start as cakes for friends, I’m hoping it will be something for everyone who wants one!

With some encouragement from the same friends who’ve eaten most of my cakes, I’ve decided to expand. I’m now baking for anyone who finds joy in a great cake + fresh flowers. Friend Cakes is an aspiring bakery spun up in Austin, Texas for just about any occasion you could think of.
